For Grant Makers & Trust Funders

TechForAll Foundation is a registered charity (No. 1211494) delivering direct community benefit through digital inclusion. This page sets out our case for support, programme model, outcomes framework and how we measure impact.

The Case for Support

The problem we exist to solve

Digital exclusion is one of the most significant and least-addressed inequalities in the UK. Around 7 million adults in the UK lack basic digital skills. For migrants and refugees, that figure is much higher, and the consequences extend far beyond convenience: they cannot access employment, benefits, NHS services, education, or communication with family without digital literacy.

In The Gambia and across West Africa, young people face even starker choices. Without digital pathways into sustainable livelihoods at home, many resort to dangerous migration routes, the "Backway" across the Sahara and Mediterranean, in search of opportunity. TechForAll was founded to change that calculus.

 Who We Serve

  • Migrants and refugees in the UK (primarily East London)
  • Young people aged 14-30 in The Gambia
  • Girls and women excluded from technology pathways
  • Individuals with no prior digital experience
Programme Model

How our programmes work

A four-stage model from access to aspiration, each stage building on the last.

1

Equipment Access

Donated and refurbished laptops and devices are deployed to learners who own no technology. Without access, training cannot begin. Our IT technicians assess, wipe and configure every device to NCSC standards before distribution.

2

Digital Skills Training

Free, structured training delivered in community hubs and digitally. Covers essential skills (internet safety, email, document creation), productivity tools (Microsoft Office suite), and introductory coding. Delivered by qualified IT professionals, supported by peer mentors.

3

Employability Support

CV building, job application support, interview preparation and workplace technology skills. One-to-one mentoring from IT professionals who have navigated similar barriers. Introduction to career pathways in IT, administration and digital services.

4

Sustained Pathways

Progression routes into apprenticeships, further education, employment and self-employment. Alumni network peer support. Ongoing mentoring for up to 12 months post-programme for participants who need it.

Outcomes Framework

What we measure

We use a simple, auditable outcomes framework aligned to NCVO and Inspiring Impact best practice. Funders receive clear, evidenced reporting against each outcome.

Immediate Outputs

Number of learners enrolled; devices deployed; training hours delivered; sessions completed; qualifications achieved.

Short-Term Outcomes

Increased digital confidence (self-assessed); essential skills acquired; ability to access online services independently; improved employability readiness scores.

Medium-Term Outcomes

Entry into employment, apprenticeship or further education within 6 months; reduction in digital exclusion barriers; progression to the next programme stage.

Long-Term Impact

Sustained livelihoods and reduced risk of unsafe migration; community-level digital capability growth; multiplier effect as trained participants support others.

Strategic Alignment

UN Sustainable Development Goals

Our programmes contribute directly to multiple UN SDGs, supporting funders with global-alignment reporting requirements.

SDG 4, Quality Education SDG 8, Decent Work & Economic Growth SDG 10, Reduced Inequalities SDG 12, Responsible Consumption SDG 5, Gender Equality

Full SDG alignment mapping is available on request.

Financial Transparency

How funds are used

As a newly registered charity (2024), we are in our first full year of operation. Our financial model is deliberately lean: the majority of expenditure goes to direct delivery, equipment, training materials and trainer costs. Administration is kept minimal through in-kind support from our founding sponsor, SecureBridge Solutions.
